Move over, Mavis Beacon! Steam Typing Fest has kicked off over on the Valve-owned digital game storefront, and whether you’re a top typing talent or hope to hone your hunt-n’-peck skills, Steam is highlighting noteworthy typing titles from independent teams with complementary demos, generous discounts, and more. Steam Typing Fest is live now through February 9 at 10 a.m PST/1 p.m. EST.
While some of these games are now fully available for purchase, other publishers are using Steam Typing Fest to share downloadable demos and incorporate fan feedback into their development processes. Ready to determine your dexterity? Dive into some of the top typing games we’re most excited about from Steam Typing Fest:
Tomb of the Bloodletter

Tomb of the Bloodletter is a strategic word roguelike where each letter of your keyboard channels unpredictable Magicks. Combine them into tactical words to unleash devastating attacks, clever defenses, and absurd effects as you battle your way through the cursed halls of a dingy, haunted tomb. Check out Tomb of the Bloodletter on Steam today!
Key Your Debt

In Key Your Debt, players must do exactly that — use a number keypad to “spawn dollars and earn cash.” Flex your ever-dextrous fingers in a fast-paced numbers game (literally). No numeric keypad? No biggie! According to the game’s Steam listing, players can use “equivalent keys if no number keypad is available.”
TypeCaster

TypeCaster pits players against hordes of spellcasting creatures in the relentless Tower of Trials. “ABRA KABRA DABRA! Type your way into the top, harness powerful spells, uncover treasures, and lift that stupid curse of yours!” TypeCaster doesn’t have a tentative release date yet, but players can get their hands on a free demo via Steam today.
OVERTYPE

OVERTYPE, an innovative keyboard-reliant roguelike, takes gamers to a vivid post-apocalyptic world where their very survival hinges upon each keystroke. “Type to fight, dodge, and survive against waves of cyborgs and corrupted machines.” OVERTYPE is slated for a full release sometime in Q2 2026, but a demo is available on Steam now.
Final Sentence

In this gritty battle royale, players find themselves in a mysterious hangar with nothing but a typewriter and a loaded revolver. While the typewriter has all its keys, the latter has just one bullet in the chamber. You know where this is going…
Final Sentence is expected to release sometime in Q1 2026, but Steam users can download the game’s demo today.
Type or Die

Type or Die, a typing roguelike set in a medieval manuscript, requires valiant typists to attack opponents, collect helpful cards, and travel a grid-like environment where “every word becomes a weapon.” Try your hand at the Type or Die demo now, and be sure to tackle the fullType or Die experience when it launches on Steam on June 25, 2026.
