Paw-some news! Gamers now have precisely one month until Atari and Fabraz’s zany 3D platformer Bubsy 4D ships on all systems. To kick off the 30-day countdown, the series’ pawed protagonist is bringing the game’s vibrant demo to home consoles. The Bubsy 4D demo is already available on PC via Steam and GOG, but now, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation, and Xbox gamers can get in on the fun.
Fabraz shared the announcement on X (formerly Twitter). “We’re exactly ONE MONTH away from Bubsy 4D launching! As a little treat you can now play the demo on all consoles.” Fabraz also shared a 25-second-long console demo trailer. Published on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. Eastern Time, the post has already been viewed nearly 26,000 times.
Bubsy 4D, an eye-popping platformer from storied game studio Atari and indie dev Fabraz, pulls everyone’s favorite four-legged friend back into the limelight with the first series entry in more than three decades (yes, really). Atari SA re-acquired the Bubsy IP in 2023 alongside the rights to more than 100 other games in a contemporary effort to “expand digital and physical distribution of the titles – including bringing some of them to consoles for the first time.” Atari has less than one month until launch, and as Bubsy 4D grabs gamer attention following myriad well-received sneak peeks and event appearances, the brand likely has another hit on its hands. The Outrun Gaming crew got to enjoy Bubsy 4D at PAX East 2026, and it was a total blast. I’ve been glued to platformers in nearly every form since my salad days, and after spending some one-on-one time with Bubsy, I can confidently deem the demo a delight. Exploratory freedom, silly cosmetics, and rewarding gameplay, all evocative of Nintendo’s blockbuster platformer, Super Mario Odyssey. Wisecracking Bubsy is in peak form, gliding through gorgeous galactic environments and taking on some more precise platformer challenges.
