Your board game collection just got a little bit more nostalgic. Jagex: The RuneScape Company announced on Thursday that pre-orders for its RuneScape edition of MONOPOLY are now live. The RuneScape special edition MONOPOLY puts a timeless and tangible spin on the long-running MMORPG, allowing players to transmute in-game adventures into high-fantasy tabletop fun.
In MONOPOLY RuneScape, players quest through the fantastical town of Gielinor just the same, collecting GP and building houses and castles in Varrock, Lumbridge, Prifddinas, and other memorable in-game locations.
Thankfully, we won’t have to nudge thimbles and top hats about Gielinor. The game includes RuneScape-inspired gilded tokens such as Bob the Cat, cabbage, and a Rune helm. Push your antique-y token around the board and build properties in quaint RuneScape locales. Exercise caution, though, as you might run into a surprising random event. Trade, barter, and haggle to ultimately acquire the property sets you need to take the game.
RuneScape celebrates merch store relaunch with MONOPOLY collab
On Thursday, July 23, Jagex announced the return of its official RuneScape Merch Store. The brand is celebrating the return of its overhauled online storefront, with distribution now available from both UK- and US-based fulfillment centers, a strategy that shortens the distance between fans and cool merch.
The store’s relaunch is just one small part of RuneScape’s 25th anniversary endeavor, through which it’s working to make the fantastical world of Gielinor more and more accessible to potential players (whether they’re playing on PC or not).
