Independent, award-winning Trash Goblin studio Spilt Milk has officially launched the Kickstarter page campaign for their next game, Gobble Inn.
The team’s relaxing new roguelike sends Trash Goblin‘s “cantankerous goblin superstar” Aunty Val through a convoluted underground mine ripe with yummy food, hidden treasures, and more. Dig deep within the Chasm to gather restorative grub while experimenting with character builds and cursed trinkets.
Once you’ve solidified your stash, resurface and share your bounty with others at the Gobble Inn. Hungry goblins and lizards on the surface will surely thank you!
Learn new recipes featuring found ingredients, fill customers’ bellies, and ultimately build your Inn’s reputation. How quaint!
“Every run is tactile, surprising & moreish,” developers explain on the game’s Kickstarter page, “seemingly endless hand-crafted caves to explore, stuffed with a smorgasbord of blocks to break, goodies to find, and secrets to uncover!”
You’re not just diggin’ through dirt; devs say Gobble Inn sends players through “wild biomes filled with a variety of block types,” with each new run bringing new surprises.
Spilt Milk Studios’ Creative Director Andrew Smith reflected on players’ past contributions in a news release. “Trash Goblin would not have been possible without our community backing us on Kickstarter in 2024, and our backers were instrumental in supporting us through its development from a wish and a dream, to an Early Access game, to a 1.0 release that’s since received a host of massive free updates – and recently its first premium expansion.
“Gobble Inn is similarly starting from humble beginnings, but we think it captures the positive spirit and cheerful, cosy tone of Trash Goblin, while offering a wholly new experience in a different, more action-packed genre.
“Yet it’s still a non-violent game full of lovable characters, enchanting stories, and addictive gameplay, set in a whimsical world! In other words, it’s still a Spilt Milk game through and through!”
