“That’s what we’ve been waiting for!” viewers chant in unison.
Players can return to Tamriel today. I KNOW, RIGHT?!
On Tuesday, iconic game studio Bethesda Softworks shadowdropped Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered to trembling players around the world.
Rumors have been running rampant for weeks now, but an exciting new video uploaded to Bethesda’s YouTube and Twitch accounts put an end to any gossip.
The reveal showcases gorgeous graphics, improved gameplay, all-new dialogue, the beloved goosebump-inducing soundtrack, and more, all before announcing it’s out now.
Seasoned and novice gamers can return to the 20-year-old role-playing game on Xbox Series X/S and PC for $50, a price tag that probably brings gamers some relief following Nintendo’s controversial Switch 2 pricing.
What’s more, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can hop back into the beloved Bethesda title at no extra cost.
‘At the end of the day, we’re all fans, too’
Bethesda’s tribute to Oblivion features touching testimonials from developers and brand execs, all waxing poetic about the cult classic’s long-lasting impact on their careers and relationships with gaming as a whole.
Alongside some seriously charming staff interviews, the video also details what gamers can expect when they return to Tamriel.
Character models, lighting, textures, and even oft-quoted dialogue — “cheese for everyone!” — received a facelift, all of which ready the release for modern rigs.
Snag your copy on Steam, leave work early, and hey, maybe call out tomorrow, too. I won’t tell.
