On Monday, creatives behind the captivating open-world RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 took to social media to share some “whee!”-worthy news.
In their latest post on blossoming social site Bluesky, the team teased potential updates to their brand-new IP. “Bonjour! We’re currently exploring a wide range of future improvements — from accessibility features to new content and all sorts of bits and bobs we’re actively assessing. Naturally, this also includes expanded localisation options!”
They continue in a second post: “While we don’t have specific timelines or confirmed languages to share just yet, we wanted to let you know that it’s very much on our radar. Wheee!”
Sandfall Interactive’s commercial and critical hit has already received some updates, including character nerfs (most notably, to Maelle’s incomprehensibly powerful “Stendhal” build), as well as difficulty adjustments. But the game’s exploration-fostering map, countless collectible cosmetics, and relationship-building capabilities feel like stepping stones for more profound world expansion.
The studio has floated a potential “Photo Mode” in the past, which feels like the natural next step for a game that boasts so many visually stunning settings, cinematic cutscenes, and stirring character arcs. Oh, and if anyone from Sandfall is listening, please send that son-of-a-gun Simon to Nerf City.
