Absolum, the Indie side-scrolling “rogue-’em-up” from games publisher Dotemu, has surpassed 500,000 units sold. The team announced the milestone in a news post uploaded to digital game storefront Steam. “With a huge thank you to Rebel cells worldwide, we’re proud to celebrate our resistance reaching a stunning milestone of 500,000 Rebels!” The heartfelt message continues, citing fans’ continued interest as a primary reason for the game’s success: “With each of you taking the fight to the tyrannical rule of the Sun King Azra, we literally couldn’t have done it without you!” As a show of thanks, the Absolum team teased the game’s upcoming “Threads of Fate” update, confirming it’ll hit PC and consoles on Thursday, February 12.
“We know you’ve been waiting a little while, and we can’t wait for you to jump into an upgraded Talamh in February,” the news post reads. “We know you Rebels are also keen to hear about Cross Play functionality, and while it won’t be landing with 1.1, it is still something we’re working on and we’ll have more news coming soon.” Upgrades players can expect include new Mystic Ordeals challenges, stronger opponents, enhanced abilities, expanded customization options, and more.
