Indie game studio Good Story Guild has officially revealed the stacked cast for its feline-focused anti-AI adventure, Cat Secretary, in a new reveal trailer following an open casting call for voice actors at PAX East earlier this year. Good Story Guild says they received more than 100 applications following their open call, including some from well-known industry vets, such as Samantha Béart (Baldur’s Gate 3).
“What drew me to Cat Secretary was the cute trailer… I knew I had to shoot my shot!” Béart shares in a new press release, adding that she was charmed by “how pro-human the whole endeavour was.”
In the anticipated 3D exploration adventure game, players pounce into the role of a purr-fessional feline being onboarded at media conglomerate Dox Inc. Furry new hires will quickly realize that positive employee sentiment at Dox Inc. is on the decline, as you overhear your new coworkers lamenting the implementation of worker-replacing AI-powered robots. Topical!
I was fortunate enough to spend a little time with the folks behind Cat Secretary at PAX East myself. The adorable demo, playable on the event floor, was among the weekend’s most memorable. Engaging, tough to step away from, and developed by humans.
