‘Cyberpunk 2077’ studio CD Projekt Red teases new content

Listen up, choom! CD Projekt Red is gearing up for Cyberpunk 2077‘s fifth anniversary on December 10, and one eye-popping social media post is piquing the interest of players everywhere. On Monday, the Poland-based studio shared a cryptic, all-caps message on X (formerly Twitter) alongside a graphic showing the game’s December 2025 birthday and anniversary calendar. While CD Projekt Red consistently shares birthday announcements for its chromed-out characters — and this month is no exception — the itinerary also shows the Cyberpunk 2077 logo in the December 10 spot.

CD Projekt Red shares 'Cyberpunk 2077' December 2025 calendar graphic via X/Twitter on December 1, 2025. Calendar shows Solomon Reed and So Mi Song's birthdays as well as logo on game's anniversary.

Word has long circulated regarding the tentative release date for the game’s next refresh — Update 2.4 — and this may well be what we’ve been waiting for. Fans are left to speculate for the next nine days, but if the game’s more recent enhancements are any indication, gamers are in for a treat.

In response to one user’s playful accusations of “teasing,” the official Cyberpunk 2077 X account responded: “Choom can’t post anything wholesome without wild conspiracy theories forming around it these days…”

Despite the game’s tumultuous launch in 2020, CD Projekt Red has continued issuing updates that enhance and expand the game’s content and overall performance. The Phantom Liberty expansion, released in September 2023, introduced players to both Solomon Reed (Idris Elba) and Songbird (Minji Chang) for the first time. The Cyberpunk 2077 DLC quickly became a blockbuster, and the team behind the dystopian RPG hasn’t slowed down since.

In addition to the tangential Phantom Liberty content, other updates have included a comprehensive in-game photo mode, slick new rides for speed demons, and more. Some speculations suggest the next update could finally bring online multiplayer to Cyberpunk 2077, a commonly requested content addition.
