This is not a drill: DELTARUNE Chapter 5 is available now. The latest pixel-art project from UNDERTALE creator Toby Fox (or tobyfox), first teased just weeks ago during Nintendo’s June 6 Direct livestream, follows human teen Kris Dreemurr on a surreal, atmospheric adventure to save the world. Fox announced the game’s official launch in a heartfelt update shared with Steam users:

DELTARUNE has been updated with Chapter 5.
(I removed any beta branches, but just in case, if it doesn’t download, make sure you’re not on one…)
In their official Chapter 5 Release Newsletter, Fox urges fans to report any technical issues they encounter in the new chapter. “If the game crashes, or the game reaches a point where it’s not possible for you to progress, please email deltarune@fangamer.com to report any issues. And keep an eye on the FAQ page in the coming weeks, as we’ll be posting any known issues there at the top of the page.”
Fox also warns fans against peeping at song titles before playing Chapter 5. “I don’t recommend you look at the track names until you’ve completed the game…But this time, many other people helped out with the music, so make sure to check the credits!”
The DELTARUNE creator closes their release announcement by thanking loyal fans. “As usual, thanks for your patience! I’m very proud of my team that we didn’t have to make you guys wait too long this time. Otherwise we would be really sorry to keep you waiting. Anyway, please enjoy this crazy thing I thought up 10 years ago! It’s on to the next chapter for us! Ciao!”
Next chapter?! Oh, boy.
The game’s first four chapters are already available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 (sorry, XBOX owners). Much to players’ delight, the fifth entry has been added as a free update, so players who already own DELTARUNE can simply download the new content and hop back in. Those interested in playing for the very first time can pick up DELTARUNE on Steam for $25 to enjoy all five captivating chapters. What’s more, fans can anticipate even more updates in the future — all free!
Speaking of “free,” Steam users new to the DELTARUNE franchise can give it a try by downloading the game’s free Steam demo. Y’know, try before you buy, but like…c’mon. You’re gonna buy it.
