It’s been an exciting month for Nintendo already, but the global gaming brand isn’t done yet. The global media brand revealed it will hold a Donkey Kong-centered Direct presentation on Wednesday, June 18. Nintendo utilized its Nintendo Today! app to make the announcement, saying the Direct will begin at 6 a.m. PT/9 a.m. ET and will run for about 15 minutes.

“Tune in on Wednesday, June 18, for a livestreamed Donkey Kong Bananza Direct 6.18.2025 presentation, featuring roughly 15 minutes of information about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 game,” reads the news alert. The in-app update then provides a link allowing users to register the event in their phone’s calendar.

The tie-donning Kong is the star of next month’s anticipated 3D platformer, Donkey Kong Bananza, announced the revolutionary title during its Nintendo Switch 2 Direct presentation on April 2. Bananza is slated for release on Thursday, July 17, 2025 — precisely one month from today.

Bananza is the Nintendo icon’s first major release since Donkey Kong Country: Topical Freeze was released in 2014, and the character’s first 3D platformer since Donkey Kong 64 arrived on the Nintendo 64 in 1999.

Keep tabs on the upcoming presentation via Nintendo’s website.
