When Yakuza and Like a Dragon character Goro Majima warned Kiryu he was everywhere, he wasn’t kidding. Publisher SEGA and SHINOBI developer Lizardcube announced that the snakeskin jacket-donning character will be the final guest villain for the SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance SEGA Villains Stage DLC. The iconic “Mad Dog of Shimano” will go toe-to-toe with SHINOBI series star Joe Musashi when the downloadable content, included in the game’s Deluxe Edition, launches early next year.

Ryu Ga Gotoku (RGG), the studio behind the Like a Dragon and Yakuza series, shared the news via its X account:
“Goro Majima, the Mad Dog of Shimano joins as the final addition to the trifecta of villains in the SEGA Villains Stage DLC for SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance. This will be Joe Musashi’s greatest challenge yet!
“Pick up the katana and hone your ninja skills by playing SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance now! Buy the Digital Deluxe Edition and get the DLC included when it launches in early 2026!”
SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance‘s SEGA Villains Stage already features some of the studio’s most recognizeable antagonists, like Sonic the Hedgehog‘s Dr. Eggman and Golden Axe‘s Death Adder, all of whom will bring their special skill sets to the fray. Players who already picked up the Deluxe Edition of SHINOBI when it launched on Aug. 29, 2025, will be ready to play when the DLC drops. Gamers who grabbed only the base game can still get access to the SEGA Villains Stage as well as the game’s Starter Pack, digital art booklet, and original soundtrack for $11.99 on Steam.
About SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance

SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance is a 2D action platformer from the folks behind Streets of Rage 4. In the stunningly animated adventure, players take on the role of legendary Shinobi Joe Musashi, who finds his village scorched and his clan turned to stone. Players embark on a relentless quest to avenge his clan and annihilate the evil force behind it all. The game landed to generally positive critic and fan reviews and holds an aggregated Metacritic score of 87 (out of 100).
SHINOBI‘s special stage isn’t the game’s first cool crossover. In mid-August, SEGA shared that YDB, the aptly-named son of founding Wu-Tang Clan member ODB, would release a special single for SHINOBI. The song, called “The Path Just Begun,” landed on streaming services like Spotify on August 21, even launching with a special SHINOBI-centered video and branded apparel.
Join Joe Musashi in SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance, available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.
