Deified, the inventive turn-based RPG from indie studio Unexpected and Goblinz Publishing, is now out in 1.0!
The tactical, hand-drawn title launched in Steam Early Access in April, after making a splash with its Steam Next Fest demo a month earlier.
“After more than two years of development, hundreds of changes, some bugs, a lot of coffee,” the Unexpected team shared in a Steam update on Monday, “and most importantly, an adventure shared with all of you, Deified is officially available in version 1.0.”
“It’s a difficult moment to put into words for the whole team. Deified is a project we’ve spent an enormous amount of time working on, but more importantly, it’s a project we care deeply about.
“From the very beginning, our goal was to create a tactical game that encouraged experimentation, building synergies, discovering new Relic combinations, and constantly adapting your strategy.
“But we also wanted to create something with a real identity of its own. A strange world. A Citadel where every floor has its own personality. Lords, characters and a story that give you a reason to keep moving forward beyond the next reward or the next fight. In short: we wanted to make a game with a soul.”

In Deified, players follow Sator, a tortured and trapped prisoner within a sinister Citadel. Build an impressive collection of Relics, match identical fragments, master synergies, unlock bonuses, tinker with a sprawling skill tree, and help Sator uncover the Citadel’s secrets.
“The Lords have corrupted the Gold of the Rhine to craft relics of unmatched power… and eternal curses. In Deified, you play as Sator, determined to confront these legendary figures, learn from their failures, and forge a new future. Try to defeat the game’s 7 bosses and return the Gold of the Rhine to your people.”
Wisely manage relic slots, restore artifacts with matching shards found on your adventure, unlock new abilities, tinker with your traits in the sprawling skill tree, and develop synergies by growing your relic collection.
These relics? Kind of a big deal. Each one has unique perks and drawbacks; pick a relic to earn a special bonus, but watch for applied changes that can flip your strategy on its head.

Deified is out now on PC via Steam for $14.99; players can take advantage of the game’s 10 percent launch discount ’til October 5, which knocks the purchase price down to $13.49.
The game’s soundtrack is also up for grabs on Steam. Good news — that launch discount applies here, too, so you can get the OST for a little over $5. A steal, really.
