HEAVYS Wireless Earbuds Review: An S-Tier Earbud

HEAVYS Earbud Review Cover | Outrun Gaming

HEAVYS really impressed us with the H1H Wireless Over-Ear headphones, combined with the HEX gaming bundle.

The sound quality was top-notch, and the battery life was god tier. The H1H has become my daily driver for headphones, but I’m an earbud guy. I kept thinking, what if? What if HEAVYS made wireless earbuds?

My prayer has been answered, and they have made TWS Earbuds. Will HEAVYS’ wireless earbuds live up to the hype, or will muddy music leave you with a terrible experience all around?

In the box, you’ll find the charging case, earbuds, USB-C cable, and additional replacement tips. You have a certificate of authenticity and a manual for the product. Upon opening that case, you will be greeted with a uniquely designed earbuds.

They look unique, with sharp, angular stems bearing the HEAVYS name. The charger case does something similar to the H1H’s swappable shell design. The branded part of the lid can be popped out and replaced with new lids with unique designs or partnered metal band logos. It also appears you can do the same to the side of the earbuds, but I’m not sure about that one.

The HEAVYS Wireless Earbuds Impress At Nearly Every Metric

I wear earbuds a lot while doing construction work, and my daily drivers have been the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2. For the month, I decided to switch to the HEAVYS. Honestly, all I can say is I’m very impressed. These earbuds and case have the longest battery life I have ever experienced in the earbud market. I used them for six to seven days a week while working ten-hour shifts. The batteries seem as advertised, didn’t have to charge them the first week. I usually use one earbud at a time, switching them every three or four hours to keep the earbuds charged, but also because my ears are sensitive.

Speaking of ears being sensitive, the HEAVYS earbuds are comfortable and cause hardly any discomfort. They fit just right. My problem with my Samsung earbuds is the fit. When you start getting sweaty, they begin to fall out of your ears. That means if you want to wear them while working out or during manual labor at work, they will constantly need to be pushed back in. HEAVYS earbuds do not have that problem. You can get sweaty and shake your head like crazy, and those earbuds are staying in.

Let me guess the burning question you have. How do they sound? They sound pretty great.

The sound is full, and the earbuds can get very, very loud. I tested a variety of music genres and watched a lot of TikTok to get a real sense of how these earbuds would perform for all-rounders. I understand that these are marketed more towards music enthusiasts, but the average person wants earbuds that do it all. While watching content, I didn’t notice any delays, which sometimes happens with Bluetooth devices. The sound was clear, except for audio issues that existed on the content side. I was able to watch all my favorite brain-rotting with bass-boosted ear-shattering audio just fine.

Your Favorite Songs Have Never Sounded Better

Listening to music is where things get fascinating. Have you ever listened to a song your whole life and then switched to a new gear, hearing all kinds of new sounds? Well, you will now.

In more electronic-based music or progressive metal, I could hear little instrumental parts I’d never heard before. The sound has such a large stage for just being earbuds, and with the app, I flattened out the sound a little more using the EQ to create the perfect sound for my ears. In my opinion, the bass on the earbuds straight out of the box is too much.

Turning up the volume starts to create a muddy sound, even though I’d never listen to them that loud. The problem is solved by the EQ.

I’ve been listening to music with a lot of chugging guitars and fast, twiddling, atmospheric guitars. These earbuds bring out some of the smallest sounds I didn’t hear before, and the sound feels like it is all around you. The bass hits feel impactful in such a pleasing way. While listening to Digital Love by Daft Punk, I could feel every time that kick drum was hit. It caused enhanced head bobbing. I listened to a lot of podcasts and audiobooks. Voices sound great with the Heavys earbuds. I often worry that music-first earbuds will struggle with other everyday listening tasks. I’m happy to report that the sound on these will not let you down if you are more of a podcast or audiobook listener.

The HEAVYS Wireless Earbuds Are Also Great For Gaming Purposes

The microphone on these earbuds is really impressive, too. It sounds clear and not tinny or robotic. The big thing for me is the transparency mode. I usually only wear one earbud at a time, but a good transparency mode will allow me to wear both and still hear everything around me. Even with both earbuds in, I can have a conversation because I can hear everything someone is saying. This is due to the earbuds using the microphones to let you hear your surroundings.

The sound, microphone, ANC, and transparency mode are perfect for all gamers. You can hear every mean word your teammate has to say about you, and if you want to be toxic, the dual mic system will make sure your opponent hears you back in the highest quality. The transparency mode makes these perfect for those gamer parents who need to listen to their kid when they become too quiet and trouble arises.

Wrapping Up

HEAVYS’ earbuds have everything you could want — seven to eight hours of battery per bud and 24 hours of battery within the case. You have ANC and a transparency mode. They also have an IPX5 water rating — meaning they’re sweat-resistant. Most of all, the low-latency Bluetooth 5.4 connection.

Connecting to multiple devices is such a nice feature. I can watch content on my phone and go back to gaming on my laptop without having to switch the earbuds manually. It happens automatically, and that in itself creates an ease of use that is hard to shrug off. I’d put the heavy earbuds up against any other earbuds in their price range and say they could definitely win.

In the end, it all comes down to preference. While these are music first, they are also perfect for other applications. Currently, they’re priced at $200, but have been on sale for $169.99 recently. These are must-haves for anyone looking for really solid TWS earbuds. HEAVYS is developing a reputation for delivering high-quality products; these should be on your radar with the holidays coming up.
