The good news? HITMAN: World of Assassination, the 2021 installment in IO Interactive’s popular stealth franchise, is now available on Apple iPhone and iPad.
The bad news? Only the introductory first stage is free; the full game will cost mobile players a cool $70. Yeah. I know.
IO Interactive, the studio behind the HITMAN IP, announced the game’s iOS arrival via social media and press release:
“IOI has designed an entirely touch control scheme built specifically for iPhone and iPad. This includes context-sensitive buttons that dynamically adapt to your surroundings. HITMAN World of Assassination benefits from MetalFX to provide a high-quality graphical port of Agent 47’s missions on iPhone and iPad. Additionally, the touch controls are smart, flexible, and entirely new. For those who prefer physical controls, HITMAN World of Assassination for iPhone and iPad supports all compatible third-party controllers, offering another way to experience HITMAN’s deep and rewarding gameplay on the go.
“The Freelancer mode will be added to the iPhone and iPad version of HITMAN World of Assassination, as part of an update scheduled for later this year.”

I’m not one to “yuck” someone else’s “yum,” but those willing to shell out $70 for a six-year-old game should know it’s currently available on Steam for $30. Additionally, gamers with a Nintendo Switch 2 can grab a copy of World of Assassination via Nintendo eShop for $59.99.
If you’re a glutton for punishment, however, you can bypass the app’s up-front $69.99 price by shelling out for several microtransactions instead. Yippee! Wahoo! Oh, boy!

Interested Apple users, be forewarned: While the game does comprise full versions of HITMAN, HITMAN 2, and HITMAN 3, the complete mobile download clocks in at a whopping 43GB. Woof. Double-check your device’s available space before finalizing your buy.
The iOS version of HITMAN: World of Assassination is compatible with these devices:
- iPhone models: iPhone 16; iPhone 15 Pro; iPhone 15 Pro Max
- iPad models: iPad Pro; iPad Air (M1 chip or later); iPad mini (A17 Pro)
“Suit up, Agents. HITMAN World of Assassination has arrived on iOS—download now and take the contract on the go. Experience more than 100 hours of content on your iOS device for the very first time,” reads the YouTube description.
