25 Years of ‘HITMAN’: Studio Teases Anniversary Box, Special Livestream

Welcome to your anniversary party, Agent 47. IO Interactive, the independent game studio behind blockbuster assassin series HITMAN is celebrating a quarter-century of tactical takedowns, costume changes, sedative-spiked champagne, and many a job well done with some special goodies. In a new press release, IO announced the release of a special PlayStation 5 physical-only limited edition 25th Anniversary Box for World of Assassination. The commemorative collection is a love letter to the series’ action-packed 25-year run, in which its hosted more than 80 million would-be operatives and eclipsed 25 million units sold.

HITMAN World of Assassination — the bumper package containing the series’ first three entries — includes the game’s central campaign, Contracts mode, the play-by-your-own-rules Freelancer mode, Escalations, Elusive Target Arcades, and special live content.

HITMAN World of Assassination – 25th Anniversary Box

The sleek new HITMAN World of Assassination 25th Anniversary Box, available now at select retailers for about $50, boasts a branded shadowbox, a special visual for the PS5 game case, four highly acclaimed celebrity DLCs (The Undying, The Drop, The Splitter, and The Banker), as well as a Lenticular Art Card.

PC VR Update

HITMAN World of Assassination ups the ante in the freshly updated VR. The changes brings PS VR2 capabilities to PC players. The welcome content includes dual-wield weapons, interactable disguises, smooth motion controls, and room-scale implementation. A new patch is on the horizon, too, which is set to remediate graphical issues and make other general improvements, is due out at the end of the month. HITMAN Hits Mobile Devices

HITMAN World of Assassination snuck onto iPhone and iPad in August. The mobile release brings Agent 47, every location and mission, and the beloved Freelancer mode to Apple smartphones and tablets. The full game retails for $70 on the App Store (wowzers…) but Apple users downloading the complete World of Assassination game between October 21 and October 27 will recieve a 40% discount. A free version of the game, giving access to the tutorial and the Sebastian Principle Escalation in Dubai, can be downloaded right now.

Anniversary Livestream

On October 21, 2025, IO Interactive will hold a special livestream via the official HITMAN Twitch channel. The live event, according to the team’s press release, will include a look back at the franchise’s 25-year run and feature appearances from surprise guests. IO doesn’t tease any names, but my fingers are crossed for a Mads Mikkelsen appearance

HITMAN: The Board Game

IO Interactive has also teased the upcoming “HITMAN: The Board Game,” developed in partnership with Mood Publishing. The studio is staying mum about the tabletop project right now, but urges fans to keep an eye on the Kickstarter for more information as its made available.
