CloverPit, the viral slot-machine horror game from Panik Arcade, has officially moved more than 500,000 units after just eight days on digital game storefront Steam. According to figures from Steam data aggregator SteamDB, CloverPit reached a concurrent player peak of 25,000 over the weekend. At the time of writing, over 22,000 users are gambling for their lives. The spooky indie slots game is in good company; CloverPit joins chaotic indie hit Megabonk in record-breaking Steam performances.

Developer Panik Arcade shared the studio’s big win on social media. “500,000 copies of CloverPit sold in 8 days since launch!!! we also just hit a new Steam concurrent player peak record today, thank you thank you!!! absolutely surreal,” Panik Arcade shared on Bluesky.

About CloverPit
The studio behind CloverPit describes the title as a combination of Balatro and Buckshot Roulette. “CloverPit is the demonic lovechild of Balatro and Buckshot Roulette, a rogue-lite that traps players in a hell of their own creation,” teases a recent press release. “Locked in a rusty cell with a slot machine and an ATM, players must pay off their debt at the end of each round, or fall to ruin – literally.”

“Manipulate the slot machine to earn extra coins. Turn the odds in your favor with various prizes and charms, snowballing into a dazzling lucky run. Bend the rules, break the game, and pay off your captor long enough to earn a shot at freedom.
“Features:
- A gripping rogue-lite where every round could be your last!
- Meta-progression, seeded runs, unlockable run modifiers and power-ups!
- A hellish escape room atmosphere!
- 150+ items and synergies to boost your luck!
- A sinister tale of addiction and escape!”
The developers note, however, that CloverPit is not a slot machine simulator. “CloverPit is not a slot machine simulator. Our slot machine is designed to be broken and ultimately overcome. If you’re looking for a real gambling experience please look elsewhere.” They continue: “Or better yet, don’t look at all. We don’t really like gambling. That’s what the game is about!”
If you’re feeling brave, pick up CloverPit on Steam today for just $8.99. Steam also offers bundles that combine CloverPit with other unsettling, casino-inspired games (“inspired” being the operative word here).
