Let’s-a-go!

Global media brand Nintendo says a Mario Kart World-centered Direct will air tomorrow, April 17.

The presentation, teased by Nintendo during its April 2 Direct, is scheduled for 9 a.m. ET and will run for a confirmed 15 minutes. Still, Nintendo promises the bite-sized presentation will offer racers a sneak peek at content coming to their next console.

The Japanese brand’s colossal Switch 2 presentation earlier this month garnered millions of views from fans worldwide. The brand’s quirky new Treehouse streams also showed viewers a more intimate look at in-game content, like new characters, 24-racer matches, and improved mechanics.

While Mario Kart World and other new titles teased by Nintendo show serious promise, rumored price tags soured some consumers.

President Donald Trump’s sweeping tariffs threaten to complicate stateside console sales, costs, and distribution, a hurdle leading some North American gamers to air their frustrations across social media platforms. Following Nintendo’s April 2 stream, word quickly spread regarding potential pricing for Switch 2 titles.

Early estimates revealed digital downloads would run players around $80. Players and collectors hoping to cop a physical copy will pay around $90.

Adding insult to injury, news regarding higher-than-ever retail values comes alongside details about Nintendo’s paid console tutorial, costly console peripherals like the Switch 2 Camera, and its Nintendo Online monthly subscription service.

These exciting presentations are a hard pill for many North American Nintendo fans to swallow, as the Trump administration’s tariffs loom over consumers and suppliers.

Drift into the Nintendo Direct tomorrow at 6 a.m. PT / 9 a.m. ET on the brand’s YouTube channel.

Don’t worry, it’s not behind a paywall — well, not yet, anyway.
