Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase airs tomorrow

Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase airs Thursday, July 31, 2025

The rumors are true — Nintendo is holding its latest Direct presentation tomorrow, July 31, 2025.

The broadcast, confirmed to be a 25-minute-long Partner Showcase, will give fans a closer look at third-party partners’ upcoming projects for the Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. Though the multinational media conglomerate has not confirmed specifics regarding the presentation’s contents, recent news about notable third-party releases like Hollow Knight: Silksong has more speculative fans daydreaming.

Due to the nature of the presentation, Nintendo loyalists may have to wait a bit longer for first-party information despite the near-inescapable critical and commercial success of the brand’s latest 3D triumph, Donkey Kong Bananza, the potential for a standalone DK flick, and recent premature adverts for the long-awaited Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.

Nintendo’s curiously timed maintenance schedule is also making waves.

Nintendo’s website reveals a 90-minute eShop maintenance window, which will run from 11 p.m. PT/2 a.m. ET on Wednesday, July 30, to 12:30 a.m. PT/3:30 a.m. ET on Thursday, July 31 — a few hours before the Direct airs. The preliminary maintenance report explicitly names the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 as “affected products/services.” The brand hasn’t divulged much beyond date and time, though some outlets speculate the two may be linked.

I’m steering clear of any potential pre-Direct spoilers, personally, but those feeling froggy may want to turn on social media notifications. To be extra sure you don’t miss a beat, download the Nintendo Today! calendar app and get brand-related news added directly to your smartphone’s calendar. Nintendo has used the app to break news in the past, including news of its live-action Zelda adaptation and Splatoon spinoff.

Tune into the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase tomorrow, July 31, 2025, at 6 a.m. PT/9 a.m. ET via the official Nintendo of America YouTube and Twitch accounts.
