Nintendo’s next Indie World Showcase will air on Tuesday, March 3, the brand announced on Monday. The presentation, set to air in less than 24 hours, marks Nintendo’s first Indie World Showcase event of the new year. “Join us on March 3 at 6am PT for a new Indie World Showcase,” reads Nintendo of America’s Indie World Showcase event description on YouTube. “Tune in for roughly 15 minutes of news and updates on indie games coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.” The Indie World Showcase will officially kick off at 6 a.m. PST/9 a.m. EST.
The global gaming and entertainment brand holds its Indie World events thrice annually, spotlighting independent studios’ releases for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The company shared news of the presentation via unexpected social media posts and notifications from its Nintendo Today! smart device app. The latter, a medium Nintendo has increasingly utilized to break big stories, sends brand news alerts directly to iOS- and Android-using gamers. The application also includes downloadable wallpapers, quirky calendar widgets, and more.
If past presentations are any indication, tomorrow’s Indie World Showcase could comprise Nintendo Switch 2 Edition announcements, world premiere trailers, long-awaited release dates, demo drops, and developer statements, among other exciting news. This is not a Nintendo Direct, so players shouldn’t expect to see any Mario Bros.-related announcements.
While tomorrow’s broadcast is the gaming and entertainment titan’s first Indie World event of 2026, it’s Nintendo’s third broadcast since January 1. The first of the year, held on January 29, was a title-focused event centered on Nintendo’s zany life sim sequel, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. The second, a 30-minute Partner Showcase held on February 5, revealed exciting Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 titles from the company’s third-party partners.
