Chinese studio S-GAME, the studio behind the brand-new action-RPG Phantom Blade Zero, announced that the game has sold more than 4 million copies in just three days. Released just last week, Phantom Blade Zero follows player-character Soul in a wuxia-inspired fantasy adventure with stylized swordplay, persistent assassins, slick martial arts, and more.
The Phantom Blade Zero team shared the news and their thanks in a post on their official X account (formerly Twitter). “Phantom Blade Zero has sold over 4 million copies in just 72 hours!🔥Thank you everyone from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support!”
The game released on PC via Steam and PlayStation 5, as well as the China-exclusive Tencent WeGame PC launcher (via Eurogamer). The announcement did not include any sales data beyond broad figures, which means we’re still waiting for a per-platform player breakdown.
Phantom Blade Zero becomes Steam’s biggest launch of 2026
Steam data aggregator SteamDB currently shows Phantom Blade Zero at the top of some of the platform’s biggest lists. At the time of writing, Phantom Blade Zero tops the platform’s wishlist activity and top sellers lists. S-GAME’s project ranks third in Steam daily active users (DAUs).
SteamDB shows Phantom Blade Zero is hosting more than 620,000 players as of this report. The title hit a 24-hour peak of 827,122 on Monday at around 9 a.m. EST/14:00 UTC. This figure is just a few thousand shy of its all-time peak of 833k, which it reached around the same time yesterday.
These player stats cement Phantom Blade Zero as Steam’s biggest release of the year, topping other blockbusters like Forza Horizon 6 and viral hit MECCHA CHAMELEON.
Phantom Blade Zero‘s biggest player-peak competition, Valheim, peaked in September at 502k concurrent users. In third place is the long-awaited underwater exploration sequel Subnautica 2, which peaked at 467k players after launching in mid-May.
