Pokémon Pokopia, the hit new life simulation game from Nintendo and The Pokémon Company, is getting its first post-release patch. According to an official blog post from The Pokémon Company, published on Friday, players can expect remedies for broken quests that hinder game progression, along with other miscellaneous adjustments and updates. Is Squirtle still stuck in that tree? Worry no more, as a rough electronic translation of the Japanese blog entry shows plans to pull the aquatic Pokémon down for good. Ditto—I mean, uh, very human players can also expect broken bricks and boxes to no longer hinder key objectives in the “Bleak Beach” region.
The first patch has no official launch date quite yet, but the brand says players will see it “soon.” While waiting for gameplay patches, Pokémon hunters can enjoy the seasonal Hoppip-centered event, “More Spores for Hoppip.” The ongoing event kicked off on March 10, 2026, and will run until March 25, 2026.
Nintendo, The Pokemon Company detail new ‘Pokemon Pokopia 1.0.1 patch in blog post

In The Pokémon Company’s patch details, which have been digitally translated, the brand breaks down upcoming in-game fixes. These rough translations have been edited for clarity:
Known issues
- When requesting “Help me make a home” in “Withered Wastelands,” Squirtle moves up a tree and cannot be spoken to, preventing the request from progressing.
- In the “Bleak Beach” request “Rebuild the Pokémon Center,” if you destroy the cracked blocks on the bridge before Professor Tangrowth crosses it, it will be difficult to progress with the request.
- When performing the “Rebuild the Pokémon Center” request in “Bleak Beach,” if you follow certain steps, the event to repair the bridge in the quest will not occur, and you will not be able to progress with the request.
- In “Rocky Ridges,” if you follow certain steps, the event where you encounter “Rotom” will no longer occur.
- In some circumstances, cleaning the roads in “Rocky Ridges” may make progress difficult.
- Spinarak‘s Pokémon type shown in the Pokédex is incorrect.
Planned improvements
- In the “Withered Wastelands” request “Yawn Up a Storm,” placing another block in the cracked block’s position near “Onix” makes it difficult to proceed.
- In the “Bleak Beach” request “Take the Professor with you!“, placing another block in the cracked block’s position near “Snorlax” will make it difficult to progress.
Future plans
- An update to correct the above will be released soon. Even if the problem has already occurred, applying this update will resolve it. We will continue to investigate any other issues not mentioned above.
Pokémon Pokopia is still super fresh, and in-game bugs — often discovered through real players’ in-game actions — can take some time to uncover. In other words, the best way to quickly find and fix off-kilter open-world gameplay is by playing the game. I’m talking to you, ultra-competitive Minecraft builders and Animal Crossing completionists. We’ve all seen the mind-boggling structures you’ve shared on social media.
Whether or not you plan to build God from Vine Rope, Lumber, and a prayer, players can still embark on vibrant, lighthearted adventures with their favorite Pokémon in Pokémon Pokopia, available now exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2.
