Saber Interactive and Boss Team are cooking up a new single-player Hellraiser game.
Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival will be a new tale in the canon of the legendary Hellraiser series. Actor Doug Bradley is set to return as Pinhead for the first time in nearly 20 years. The brains behind the IP, Clive Barker, is also attached to the project, likely bringing some relief to the franchise’s fan base.
Sabre Interactive set the mood in its latest news release:
“The box. You opened it. They came.
“Saber Interactive and Boss Team Games are thrilled to announce Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, a brand-new, single-player, survival horror action game set in the terrifying universe of one of the most iconic horror franchises ever. Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival will put players face-to-face against the legendary Pinhead, with actor Doug Bradley returning to the role for the first time in nearly two decades. This first-ever Hellraiser game is in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.”
In a separate post on PlayStation.Blog, Saber Interactive CCO Tim Willits explained players’ daunting journey ahead:
“You will play as Aidan, the protagonist in the story who must fight with various melee and ranged weapons, and use the mystical powers of the Genesis Configuration to take down unholy enemies. Finding a way to survive your bargain with the infamous Pinhead and help your girlfriend Sunny escape is never as simple as it seems in a world filled with Cenobites, cultists, deviants, and the realm of torture and pain that is the Labyrinth.
“What is a horror game if it doesn’t leave a mark on you, body and soul?”
Are you excited to see a dedicated Hellraiser game finally being made? The iconic horror character had a brief stint in survival horror hit Dead by Daylight, but Saber Interactive and Boss Team are poised to have a faithful series entry on their hands with both Bradley and Barker attached to the project.
