Star Wars: Galactic Racer gets first quality-of-life update

(Huttese) Write that down!

The studio behind the intergalactic racing hit Star Wars: Galactic Racer announced its first quality-of-life update on Thursday, bringing adjusted gameplay mechanics and other player-suggested changes.

The Star Wars: Galactic Racer crew shared the news in a comprehensive Steam update.

“We’d like to thank all of our players for their feedback on Star Wars: Galactic Racer,” the message begins.

“For our first quality-of-life update, we wanted to address the feedback we’ve heard from players regarding Party size in online multiplayer, feedback from our mouse & keyboard players, along with a few additional changes and bug fixes along the way that we wanted to prioritise.”

Developers note that, after downloading and installing the newly updated game, players must “check [their] vehicle customization for the campaign, as [they] have seen instances of this resetting after the update.”

Star Wars: Galactic Racer update expands multiplayer party size, enhances keyboard support

In their Steam update, developers addressed players’ co-op concerns, including frustrations regarding co-op party size limitations and mouse-and-keyboard controls.

“Thanks to all those players who reached out to us to let us know that they wanted to share their experience of playing Star Wars: Galactic Racer with more of their friends in online multiplayer.

“We wanted to bring this update to you as soon as we possibly could.

“The Party size in online multiplayer has been increased from 3 players to 6 players in this quality-of-life update. We can’t wait to see you challenge more of your friends in multiplayer Tours and hear your stories in our community spaces and watch along online.”

Additionally, devs noted that the “lack of key re-binding support in the game is impacting the experience” of racers using a mouse and keyboard. “We’ve added multiple keyboard layout presets to support AZERTY keys and left/right-handed play as part of this update,” the update explains.

“This is the first step towards addressing this feedback and one that we were able to implement quickly,” devs assured racers. “Key rebinding support is on the horizon and will be included in a future update.”
