Everybody loves Stranger Things, Wednesday, and Squid Games. They’re not just some of the best Netflix original shows, but also the most popular.
That doesn’t mean that they’re the only Netflix Originals that exist, though. In fact, there are hundreds of original Netflix series added annually alone.
As a result, some of them are going to, unfortunately, fly under the radar even though they shouldn’t. So we’re going to shine a light on the underrated Netflix Originals that, according to audiences, are worth watching.
Mindhunter

It feels weird to call the acclaimed crime thriller underrated, but it’s the truth: the show, sadly, never found an audience.
After two seasons, the show was, sadly, confirmed to be over in 2023, according to Executive Producer David Fincher. Fans are still hopeful the show will come back someday, though.
The OA

One of the more unique Netflix Originals available, The OA wasn’t met with widespread acclaim, but those who enjoyed the show really liked it, praising its originality.
Like Mindhunter, it feels weird to call The OA underrated, but also like Mindhunter, it never finds a widespread audience.
Dark

As great as Mindhunter and The OA are, they don’t hold a candle to how critically acclaimed Dark is, the German sci-fi mystery thriller.
It often feels like a glorious mash-up between Twin Peaks and Stranger Things, but it completely flew under the radar for the entirety of its run.
Travelers

Created by Brad Wright, best known for Stargate SG-1, Travelers tells the story of special operatives from a post-apocalyptic future tasked with preventing the collapse of society.
As you can expect from any sci-fi series, not everything goes to plan, but it makes for some great television!
Dead To Me

Thanks to an impressive cast featuring Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini, Dead to Me ran for three seasons and even received several Emmy nominations during its run.
Its ability to deal with grief and mourning loss through dark humor was extremely relatable, and the chemistry between Applegate and Cardellini did a great job of delivering that relatability.
Everything Sucks!

The 2018 coming-of-age dramedy captured everything we loved about the 1990s in one glorious season.
It’s more than nostalgia bait, it’s the closest thing we’ll ever get to a ’90s version of Freaks and Geeks, and it went unappreciated.
Sense8

In a way, it’s ironic that when The Wachowskis finally deliver a project that lives up to their reputation from The Matrix, it mostly goes unnoticed.
Sense8 is a bit convoluted at times, but it’s still an endearing and character-driven sci-fi series that’s worth watching.
Ragnarok

What if you made a coming-of-age television series, but instead of it taking place in a nostalgic decade like the 1990s, it was based on Norse mythology?
That’s the premise of Ragnarok, and it’s as wild and entertaining as you’d expect.
Ripley

Based on the 1955 novel The Talented Mr. Ripley, the limited series was widely praised by critics for its cinematography and acting. It received 14 nominations at the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, but failed to find a mainstream audience, possibly due to the show’s black and white visuals turning people off.
Behind Her Eyes

The British drama has more twists and turns than a roller coaster, some of which you can see coming a mile away, but its erotic nature helps make it super easy to binge.
