Grab your favorite blanket and secure a sweet lil’ snack — indie game publisher and curator Wholesome Games will host its annual “Wholesome Direct” this summer.
The livestreamed presentation, scheduled for June 7, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. PT/12:00 p.m. ET, will showcase dozens of cute and quirky titles from independent studios worldwide.
Fans of charming and, well, “wholesome” games can tune into the show via Wholesome Games’ YouTube account.
The showcase will also stream via Twitch as part of the platform’s Summer Game Fest.
About ‘Wholesome Games’
Wholesome Games got its start in 2019 on Twitter (now X) when indie developer Matthew Taylor began cataloging and curating game collections based on each title’s comforting and cozy qualities.
In just six years’ time, the Wholesome Games community amassed 500,000 members across social platforms like Discord, TikTok, Bluesky, and others.
Wholesome Games has introduced global audiences to nearly 400 titles, contributing to more than 1 million wishlist additions.
This year, though, Wholesome Games received a record-breaking 1,500 submissions ahead of its 2025 presentation, but just 60 specially selected entries — including some world premieres and demos — made the final cut.
This year’s presentation will be the brand’s largest to date and is slated to include goodies from studios like Playstack, ustwo games, Electric Saint, and others.
Additionally, gamers tuning in will also hear updates regarding Wholesome Games Presents’ upcoming titles, Is This Seat Taken? and MakeRoom, as well as another yet-to-be-revealed partnership.
Still, Wholesome Games’ growing presence and popularity mean unselected games will still bask in a bit of the spotlight; Wholesome Games frequently takes to their social media accounts to introduce readers to under-the-radar titles from microstudios and individual developers.
Proceeds from Wholesome Direct merchandise sales will support the gaming brand’s charity partner, Point of Pride, an independent nonprofit dedicated to supporting and saving trans lives through access to gender-affirming care.
