Everything you missed from Wholesome Snack: The Game Awards 2025 Edition

Independent cozy games curator and publisher Wholesome Games held its fifth Wholesome Snack showcase on Tuesday. Wholesome Games livestreamed its half-hour broadcast on YouTube with support from The Game Awards. Today’s roundup featured relaxing, sentimental, and resonant games from countless indie developers and publishers. Jenny Windom and other friendly faces led fans through 30 minutes of world premieres, gameplay trailers, and more.

“It was a thrill to celebrate five years of Wholesome Direct in June, and now we’re closing out this special year with our best Wholesome Snack yet,” Wholesome Games partner Matthew Taylor explained in a related press release earlier this year. “For those tuning in for the first time, you can expect a fast-paced, approximately 30-minute showcase that focuses on an extremely curated selection of games with exclusive content prepared just for Wholesome Snack.”

Wholesome Games, founded in 2019, operates as a cozy content hub, publishing uplifting and emotionally impactful games. Since its inception, the group has blossomed into a leader in the industry niche. Players, developers, and publishers from around the world share their projects via Wholesome Games’ livestreamed presentations. From puzzles and historical sims to creature collectors and open-world adventures, Wholesome Games plugs — and publishes — it all.

Wholesome Direct and Wholesome Snack, the cohort’s broadcasts, are held during summer and winter, respectively. While you can tune into the 30-minute indie game showcase on the Wholesome Games YouTube channel, a weekday afternoon livestream isn’t prime time for folks working 9-to-5.
