Get Your Popcorn Ready – Here Are 2025’s Most Anticipated Movies

Anticipated Movies Feature

2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year for movies.

James Gunn’s Superman movie arrives this summer, but it must compete with the long-awaited Marvel Cinematic Universe debut of the Fantastic Four—and that’s just in July alone!

Following a thrilling 2024 movie season,  here are 2025’s most anticipated movies.

Mickey 17

Robert Pattinson in Mickey 17 (2025)

Release Date: March 7th

Bong Joon-ho, director of Parasite, is back with an adaptation of the novel Mickey7 from author Edward Ashton.

Its star power alone, featuring Robert Pattison, Toni Collette, Mark Ruffalo, and Steven Yeun, is enough to pique our interest.

Pattison stars as Mickey Barnes, an “expendable” worker who is cloned every time he dies after being sent on dangerous missions.

Novocaine

Jack Quaid in Novocaine (2025)

Release Date: March 14th

Anyone familiar with The Boys knows that Jack Quaid’s character on the show is rarely timid, and that’s an understatement.

Quad stars as Nathan Caine in Novocaine, which allows him to showcase a more confident, action-packed character immune to pain.

Disney’s Snow White

Rachel Zegler in Snow White (2025)
Image Credit: Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

Release Date: March 21st

It’s hard to believe that Snow White hasn’t been remade into a live-action movie yet, but it’s true!

The latest Disney live-action remake stars Rachel Zegler and Gadot. While past remakes haven’t fared the best with critics, this one has hope, thanks to director Marc Webb and Gerta Gerwig acting as a co-writer.

A Minecraft Movie

A Minecraft Movie (2025)

Release Date: April 4th

After the success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, the avalanche of video game adaptations was coming.

Personally, I have no desire to see this movie, but hey, Jack Black is always a good time.

I’m also not the target audience, but younger Minecraft fans will eat this up.

Sinners

Michael B. Jordan and Omar Benson Miller in Sinners (2025)

Release Date: April 18th

Ryan Coogler, best known for his work on the MCU Black Panther movies and Creed, once again teams up with Michael B. Jordan.

This time, it’s for an American period piece that doubles as a horror film. Jordan co-stars alongside Hailee Steinfeld.

Thunderbolts*

Wyatt Russell, David Harbour, Sebastian Stan, Hannah John-Kamen, and Florence Pugh in Thunderbolts* (2025)
Image Credit: Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

Release Date: May 2nd

It’s been a long, tumultuous road for the big-screen adaptation of Thunderbolts, but we’re finally here.

The MCU has been in a rough patch following the release of 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, but Thunderbolts* looks to be the right amount of harmless Summer fun Marvel needs.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning

Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning (2025)

Release Date: May 23rd

Selfishly, I don’t want this to be the last Tom Cruise Mission: Impossible movie. These films are the most fun you can have at the theaters, aside from Mission: Impossible 2, of course.

Tom Cruise recently teased a behind-the-scenes look at his latest stunt, helping to build the hype for the movie’s Memorial Day weekend release.

Ballerina

Ana de Armas in Ballerina (2025)

Release Date: June 6th

The first spin-off from the John Wick franchise stars Ana de Armas as a female assassin and explores more of the crime organization hinted at in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.

While plot details are scarce, John Wick mainstays like Keanu Reeves and Ian McShane are back, as is the late Lance Riddick. That’s honestly all we need to be seated and ready.

28 Years Later

Aaron Taylor-Johnson in 28 Years Later (2025)

Release Date: June 20th

It’s been a long time coming, but one of the best zombie franchises in cinematic history is finally back.

Director Danny Boyle returns, having also co-written the script with Alex Garland.

Superman

David Corenswet in Superman (2025)

Release Date: July 11th

If there’s anyone we can trust to deliver a modern-day adaptation of Superman, it’s James Gunn.

His teaser trailer showcase an incredibly comic book accurate version of the characters. Best of all, it’s not going to be an origin story. Instead, it focuses on Lois Lane and Clark Kent.

David Corenswet plays the titular role, and his portrayal of Superman is reportedly more optimistic than recent interpretations.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps

Pedro Pascal, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Vanessa Kirby, and Joseph Quinn in The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025)
Image Credit: Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

Release Date: July 25th

Two decades after their big-screen debut, The Fantastic Four are back and ready to join the MCU.

Like Superman, this isn’t an origin story, but it does take place in the MCU’s Multiverse Saga, which presumably means there will be Multiverse shenanigans a foot that set up the next Avengers movies.

Given that the film takes place in a 1960s retro-future Earth different from the one we’ve seen in the MCU, this makes too much sense.

Wicked: Part Two

Wicked: For Good (2025)

Release Date: November 21st

Splitting Wicked in two movies was controversial, but fans are undoubtedly excited about it.

Part Two focuses on the second act of the Broadway musical adaptation, as the first movie ends with Cynthia Erivo’s incredible rendition of “Defying Gravity.”

Avatar: Fire and Ash

Release Date: December 19th, 2025

We continue to dive deeper into the world of Avatar with Fire and Ash, the follow-up to 2022’s The Way of Water, which made over $2 billion at the box office.

Fire and Ash introduces the “Ash People,” who are described as a group of Na’vi that aren’t exactly too friendly. Michelle Yeoh also joins the cast.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery

Daniel Craig and Josh O'Connor in Wake Up Dead Man (2025)

Release Date: Fall 2025

The latest Knives Out mystery series entry brings a new ensemble cast, with Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc at the lead.

Details remain scarce on Rian Johnson’s latest murder mystery, but not knowing what to expect is part of the fun with these movies!
