A tangible version of the Necromancy of Thay, a frightening arcanabula seen in Larian Studios’ award-winning Dungeons & Dragons RPG, Baldur’s Gate 3, will be available for purchase from your preferred digital or brick-and-mortar bookseller beginning Tuesday, July 21, 2026.
Baldur’s Gate 3: The Necromancy of Thay, a special hardcover sketchbook from longstanding label Penguin Random House and publisher Clarkson Potter, clocks in at 272 pages and will retail for $25 USD. Inside, roleplayers will find grid paper that’s perfect for any gameplay-pertinent notes and sketches.
What’s more, the book is officially licensed D&D merch, so you can proudly display the REAL ghastly and powerful compendium on your own coffee table. Y’know, if you’re into that kind of thing. And while this book bears the same sinister facade as the one first seen in the Necromancer’s Lab (and several subsequent subquests), you don’t have to destroy this copy.
