Looks like Big Walk is off to a really, really big start. Just one day after launching on PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, the colorful co-op adventure boasts an astonishing 94 on media review aggregator Metacritic, as well as an 89 on dedicated video game review site OpenCritic. These averages put Big Walk at the top of 2026’s best-reviewed games list, knocking Sektori (94) and Forza Horizon 6 (90) to second and third place, respectively.
Big Walk is currently hosting more than 10,000 PC-based adventurers, according to Steam data aggregator SteamDB. Despite just 24 hours since its launch, Big Walk peaked at nearly 47,000 unique players at around 7 p.m. PDT/10 p.m. EDT. At the time of writing, the new multiplayer hit is at the top of Steam’s top-selling games chart, edging out Valve’s Steam Machine hardware for spot no. 1.

About ‘Big Walk’
Big Walk is a cooperative multiplayer adventure set in a dynamic desert environment inspired by Australia’s Wilsons Prom National Park. With the help of a few of their friends — up to 11! — players embark on a puzzle-packed teamwork-centric expedition where their patience and cooperation skills are put to the test. Use tools with toys to complete strategic puzzles, interact with the game’s visually stunning setting, and ultimately find what sits behind the big wall.

Big Walk is the brainchild of Melbourne, Australia-based indie game developer House House, first established 11 years ago. With the help of American indie game publisher Panic, House House released viral sensation Untitled Goose Game in 2019 to near-universal acclaim. Panic and House House joined forces once more for Big Walk, and based on early reception, the outdoorsy co-op appears poised to become the studios’ biggest hit yet.
Big Walk was first announced nearly three years ago at The Game Awards 2023, where showrunner Geoff Keighley introduced the title’s brief but captivating 90-second teaser. The game was later featured as part of Steam’s Day of the Devs 2025 event.

Big Walk is out now for $19.99 on Nintendo Switch 2, PC via Steam, and PS5, with the game also available on the latter’s PlayStation Plus service.
