Gulp. Put your brave face on. Buckshot Roulette, the Russian Roulette-inspired turn-based horror game from developer Mike Klubnika and publisher Critical Reflex (No, I’m not a Human), has finally arrived on XBOX consoles and XBOX Game Pass. Brave players with access to an XBOX Series X|S, XBOX One, or XBOX on PC can purchase Buckshot Roulette for just $2.99; XBOX Game Pass subscribers can play right now.
Buckshot Roulette was first released on indie game platform itch.io in late 2023 before launching on Steam in April 2024 to near-universal acclaim. Thanks to the game’s replay value, social elements, affordable price, and viral gameplay clips circulating on social media platforms, Buckshot Roulette had sold an eye-watering 4 million copies by the end of 2024.
Klubnika and Critical Reflex first announced the high-stakes title’s XBOX launch during the ID@Xbox Showcase at IGN Fan Fest in February 2025.
Buckshot Roulette (finally!) comes to XBOX Game Pass
Buckshot Roulette‘s brief but unsettling blurb says it all. “Play Russian roulette with a 12-gauge shotgun. Four enter. One leaves. Roll the dice with your life. Good luck!”
In Buckshot Roulette, players play Russian roulette with an in-game 12-gauge. As if the whole game wasn’t nerve-wracking enough, the grungy, analog horror-like visuals make the whole experience even more disconcerting. Face off against friends and the game’s menacing hooded Dealer, wisely using items to sabotage opponents’ turns. When your turn comes, take a breath, load the chamber, and wish for no whammies.
Played before, but wanna give it a whirl on XBOX? You’ll likely notice some improvements alongside updates already introduced in the Steam version, such as multiplayer for up to four players and all-new items. A Dealer plush is also now available to pre-order from Youtooz — an all-new item for real you!
