Nintendo announced its next Direct presentation will air on Tuesday, June 9, formally putting the kibosh on mounting fan and industry speculation. The showcase, revealed on Monday via the brand’s Nintendo Today! smart-device application, a medium it has predominantly used for special announcements since its March 2025 launch. “Tune in on Tuesday, June 9, for a livestreamed Nintendo Direct 6.9.2026 presentation,” the Nintendo Today! update says.
According to Nintendo, the livestream will air for about 50 minutes and feature upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch games fans can anticipate ahead of 2026’s second half. A 95-minute Nintendo Treehouse: Live event will immediately follow, offering a closer look at gameplay from Direct-featured titles.
Tuesday’s broadcast will be Nintendo’s fourth presentation of 2026. The first, a dedicated Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream event, aired for 20 minutes on January 29 and detailed some of the quirky life-sim sequel’s new features. The brand’s second was a Partner Showcase on February 5, and its third was the 15-minute Star Fox-focused presentation that aired on May 6.
The newly announced Nintendo Direct will also be the brand’s first straightforward Nintendo Direct since September 12, 2025; every broadcast since last September has highlighted third-party partners or a single title.
Tune into the Nintendo Direct via Nintendo of America’s official YouTube channel when it kicks off tomorrow, June 9. The broadcast will begin at 7 a.m. PT/10 a.m. ET. Keep Outrun Gaming open in a separate tab for more information as it becomes available.
