Nominees for this year’s Central & Eastern European Game Awards (CEEGA), the region’s biggest industry awards program, were announced on Monday. The potential winners, all from 16 Central and Eastern European countries, will compete for awards in eight categories, including “Best Game,” “Visual Art,” and “Hidden Gem.” Winners will be announced on Friday, October 23, in Poznań during the Game Industry Conference (GIC).
The event is one part of GIC’s Polish Video Games Days festivities.
Notable CEEGA nominees include hits like Cronos: The New Dawn, the post-apocalyptic horror hit from Kraków-based Bloober Team, and Mafia: The Old Country, the organized crime RPG from Czech studio Hangar 13.
This year’s most-nominated game, REPLACED, received six nominations, matching Croteam’s 2024 triumph, The Talos Principle 2, for the most nominations in the awards’ eight-year history. Warhorse Studios’ 2025 sequel, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, is second in line with five nominations.
“The judging process is straightforward and transparent,” the Creative Industries Institute’s official website says. “The judging panel features two representatives from each country—seasoned industry experts alongside gamedev journalists.” From there, “[t]he jury selects four final contenders in each category.” The jury then crowns the winners in the final voting round.
“Experts evaluate both high-budget AAA productions and original independent works” as part of CEEGA award deliberations.
