2026 has been a busy year for TCG Card Shop Simulator.
In March, it received its anticipated tournament mode update. It also debuted on Xbox Game Pass earlier this year and is available through Xbox Play Anywhere. This was an important milestone as the game continues to progress toward its full 1.0 release. Today comes news that said 1.0 release is coming “very soon,” according to developer O.P. Neon Games.
While there’s no concrete release date available at this time, there is some important news to share: the game will be coming to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. Both versions are currently in full production and will, according to a press release, include exclusive features.
First launching in Early Access back in September 2024, the game has been a breakout success, resulting in over 3.5 million sales. “When I set out to build TCG Card Shop Simulator, I never imagined we’d reach 3.5 million players,” said Ding Shen Sia, the game’s solo developer. “Every sale is a shared memory of opening that first rare card. This community is incredible and I can’t wait to share what I have planned next.”
One of those features planned next is something fans have been asking for since the game launched.
The Tetramon Trading Card Game will soon be playable in TCG Card Shop Simulator
The TCG for TCG Card Shop Simulator may look a lot like a certain Nintendo IP, but Tetramon is something unique to the game. That hasn’t stopped fans from expressing their desire to get a chance to play it.
Well, good news for those fans: the Tetramon TCG will soon be playable in a future update and include new cards to collect and sell. It’s one of many features Sia is hoping to add in future updates. The game’s roadmap includes random events, more product types, more TCGs, card grading, and more, including making the TCG playable. That last is undoubtedly one of their most requested features, and now 3.5 million people are finally getting their wish.
Sia has expressed that the joy he got as a child playing games like the Pokémon TCG and opening packs inspired him to create TCG Card Shop Simulator. We’ve been cracking packs of Tetramon for well over a year now. Now we can join our customers and sling some cardboard with them.
More details on what the playable Tetramon TCG features will look like will be available closer to launch, which, again, is “very soon.” In the meantime, we do have a trailer, available above, to tide us over, hinting at what we can expect.
