Grand Theft Auto VI’s final trailer is here

The wait for Grand Theft Auto VI is almost over.

After years of rumors, silence, and even a delay, developer Rockstar Games has revealed the final trailer for GTA VI ahead of its November 19th, 2026 release date, 34 months after we had our first official introduction to Jason and Lucia, with an assist by Tom Petty.

Here’s an official description from Rockstar Games:

“Vice City, USA. Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.”

There’s even a little bit of extra backstory, with Jason briefly talking about his (potentially troubled) military past, saying, “they don’t give loans to people like me.”

The song used in the trailer is “Flower in a Hurricane” by Justice (who are also reportedly doing the game’s original score) feat. Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. It will be available on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album. Rockstar has been quietly releasing singles from the album, including “RHYNO” by Travis Scott, “That’s It” by Yung Lean feat. Future & Metro Boomin, and “Don’t Chart” by Cardi B. Over 30 songs are expected on the full album.

PC gamers may not have to wait long for Grand Theft Auto VI

When GTA VI finally launches next month, it will do so on PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series X|S. PC gamers, however, will have to wait, something that they’re unfortunately used to with Rockstar releases.

However, the wait may not be as long as we were anticipating. As we reported yesterday, the current plan is for Grand Theft Auto VI to launch within the first three months of 2027. The story comes from GamesBeat’s Alexander Lee, who says that the news comes from “four industry sources familiar with the studio’s plans, all of whom requested anonymity to avoid damaging business relationships.”

Given that Rockstar is pulling out all the stops, including “A Night in Vice City” theme night for the NBA’s Miami Heat on November 18th, a quick turnaround on a PC port isn’t too surprising. Nintendo Switch 2 owners, however, shouldn’t get their hopes up, as it’s been radio silence on that front.

It’s been eight years since the release of Rockstar’s last game, Red Dead Redemption 2. It’s been even longer (13 years) since Grand Theft Auto V. There has never been demand like this for a video game, and there will quite likely never be anything like this ever again. The release of GTA VI has become a cultural event, with many games trying to avoid its release window. Of course, some releases, such as World of Warcraft: Forever (November 4th) and the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake (November 11th), are perfectly content to go toe-to-toe with Rockstar’s behemoth.

In a way, it’s fitting that the November release window is this crowded with games we all expect to be some of the year’s best releases. 2026 has been filled with so many great games that it’s hard to keep track of. It’s how the year began, so it’s only fitting that’s how it’ll end as well.
