Showcases, livestreams, broadcasts — oh my! The Osaka Indie Games Summit 2026 (OIGS) Steam event ends today, but with so many awesome new and upcoming indies featured, we’d be remiss not to highlight some of our faves.
Osaka Indie Games Summit 2026 in-person festivities took place last weekend in Osaka, Japan (naturally), but fans worldwide still have time to support the event. Steam users can explore featured projects from developers everywhere on the dedicated OIGS Steam event page.
Osaka Indie Games Summit touts itself as a global talent hub for “a wide range of creators, including indie game developers,” and “[aims] to provide both creators and players with a place to make discoveries and enjoy experiences unique to this event.”
Check out the Osaka Indie Games Summit 2026 trailer on YouTube, teasing featured indie games from the event.
Ready to find your new favorite indie game? Biiiiig same. These new and upcoming indie games are bringing color, creativity, and cool to the platform and, hopefully, your library and wishlist:
The Piper of Dawn

In The Piper of Dawn, released on September 23, players become alchemists in Diamond City! Cool, right? Here’s the thing: Diamond City is trapped in a time loop. “Grow magical crops—and your own workforce,” the game’s Steam logline says. “Run an alchemy shop in a city trapped in a time loop, forge bonds with humans and non-humans, and shape its fate. A dark fantasy management sim with branching stories and multiple endings.” The Piper of Dawn is available now on Steam for $12.99.
7 Days To Think About It

7 Days To Think About It is a “short psychological horror game where your friends invite you to hang out tonight — you have 7 days to think about it.” This existential indie exploration game explores themes like decision paralysis, nihilism, anhedonia, and imposter syndrome. Gulp.
7 Days To Think About It‘s “[a]tmospheric 3D aesthetic” and “eerie, retro vibe” amplify those disconcerting doubts looming in your subconscious. Pick it up on Steam now for $4.99 or check out the game’s free demo!
Dupery: A Game of Solo Deduction

Dupery: A Game of Solo Deduction is one of October’s most-anticipated indies. This speakeasy-set whodunit from Gilded Rune Games and publishers GamerSky and Yogscast invites players to investigate, spy, sneak, and explore myriad cases and criminal syndicates throughout a crime-ridden, neo-noir metropolis. Test your private-eye prowess with the game’s free Steam demo now, but don’t forget to wishlist it! Dupery: A Game of Solo Deduction launches on October 15.
Dystopia VS Distortion

In pedalboard-building battle game Dystopia VS Distortion, players build powerful pedalboards to sound-battle cyborg baddies. “[B]uild your deck with effects pedals that shape your guitar’s tone. The combination and order of the pedals on your board change how your attacks behave, creating a battle system unlike anything else […] Rearrange your pedals to transform your tone and fight with a sound of your own.” Wishlist Dystopia VS Distortion on Steam now; follow the game to receive launch-day notifications.
Quiet Express: Cabin 909

From MIX 2026 to Tokyo Game Show, Quiet Express: Cabin 909 keeps turning heads at every showcase. Players will “spend seven days on the titular train, journeying from one side of the continent to the other,” looking for Cabin 909, a “cabin that shouldn’t exist on the train.” Explore, discover, and rub elbows with other passengers, each with their own unique week-long journey. Talk to them, help ’em out when they need it, and ultimately get closer to uncovering the mystery of Cabin 909. Quiet Express: Cabin 909 is expected to launch sometime next year, so make sure to wishlist and follow for updates and notifications.
