Tokyo Game Show 2026 has officially begun, and Capcom kicked things off with some brand-new updates, exciting deep dives into upcoming releases, new gameplay footage, and more. Beyond the new reveals, the globally renowned game studio also teased new content for existing hits like sci-fi blockbuster PRAGMATA.
Tokyo Game Show is already a stacked event, but organizers added an extra day, making this year’s TGS the longest yet. The fun’s just getting started; TGS 2026 will run through September 21, 2026, so stay tuned for more announcements from developers and publishers around the globe.
Not in Tokyo? Unfortunately, I’m not either. Still, Capcom has uploaded its full Tokyo Game Show broadcast to YouTube, so fans everywhere can get up close and personal with Mega Man, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, and other classic Capcom IPs.

Check out the biggest announcements Capcom shared as part of this year’s Tokyo Game Show kickoff:
MEGA MAN: DUAL OVERRIDE → As part of today’s presentation, director Shinya Ikuta and producer Hiroyuki Minamitani dove into the Mega Man series, offering commentary on the franchise’s evolution as well as other playable character Proto Man, and exciting new features and power-ups coming to Dual Override.
Capcom is bringing two of its titles together in some unconventional new (FREE!) downloadable content. Mega Man will appear in special collaborative PRAGMATA DLC, giving game co-protagonists Hugh and Diana adorable new Mega Man- and Roll-themed outfits. The DLC includes two cosmetic sets, background music, and new emotive gestures.
MONSTER HUNTER WILDS: ASCENDANCE → A newly released trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance shows Teostra’s return! Capcom says hunters can expect to cross paths with the powerful Elder Dragon when the expansion launches in 2027 for PC and consoles.
Ascendance producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and director Takuro Hiraoka also shared details about upcoming gameplay enhancements, including faster weapon swapping, simplified equipment changes, and more. These improvements will also be available in the Monster Hunter Wilds base game.
They also touched on the new Boost Bracer, which Capcom says will intensify action and “[make] hunts even more exhilarating.”
DRAGON’S DOGMA 2: DARK ARISEN → The new entry in Capcom’s Dragon’s Dogma IP is on the horizon, and players got a new trailer to help usher in the launch. The new look at Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen shows story and enemies in the new area of Norgan, an early look at character customization options.
New Official Pawns, made by partners worldwide, will also join the fight against the 12 Lost Rites Dungeon Challenges. Capcom says players can expect more Official Pawns to be added later.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen hits PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and XBOX Series X|S systems next month on October 9. The Dark Arisen Expansion will also be available separately as DLC.
STREET FIGHTER 6 → Acrobatic yogi Arjun is coming to Street Fighter 6 on October 13, and the character is bringing his mindful “Martial Yoga” techniques, as well as other unique abilities and projectiles. Fighters can also take a gander at C. Viper’s new outfit, which releases alongside Arjun that same day.
Tifa from Final Fantasy VII Remake and Bosch will join the battle in Winter 2027 and Spring 2027, respectively.
Of course, the Street Fighter segment also touched on the upcoming live-action movie releasing October 16. Capcom announced that players can redeem New Challenger images featuring faces from the film.
RESIDENT EVIL → Capcom is celebrating Resident Evil‘s 30th anniversary with immersive exhibits in Japan as well as a touring anniversary concert, which (thankfully!) includes North American dates. The show, according to Capcom, “traces the 30-year history of the series” and features “curated tracks accompanied by special video presentations.” Stay in the loop by checking the 30th anniversary website.
