American cozy game purveyor Wholesome Games has kicked off its fourth-annual Wholesome Games Celebration on Steam. From now through next Friday, August 14, at around 7 a.m. ET/10 a.m. PT, Steam users can explore the cozy organization’s newly curated selection of adorable indies, all of which tell hopeful, heartening, and uplifting stories.
The Wholesome Games Celebration is now live and will run through August 13, 2026, at 7 a.m. ET/10 a.m. PT.
As part of its Celebration event, Wholesome Games will share world premiere game announcements, tease upcoming releases, offer limited-time discounts and demo access, and more. Ahead of this year’s event kickoff, the organization shared it has curated more than 150 unique offerings, from unique demos to downloadable demos and just about everything in between.
“This year’s event includes titles like Paralives, Fields of Mistria, and Planet Zoo,” the orgniazation teased.
Wholesome Games also shared an event announcement on X (formerly Twitter). “The Wholesome Games Celebration on Steam starts NOW! Running from August 6-13, the event features an exciting lineup of discounts, new releases, world premiere game announcements, and new demos. Where will you begin?”
Some of the event’s recent sponsors and partners include game studios like Annapurna Interactive, Devolver Digital, and Playstack, as well as backers like The Game Awards and Twitch. Wholesome Games’ last big event — its Wholesome Direct held this past June — aired as part of Summer Game Fest 2026’s colossal event itinerary and highlighted dozens of heartwarming indies from developers and publishers around the world.
Wholesome Games was founded in 2019 and serves as an increasingly popular middleman, connecting players to independent creators’ coziest projects without the hassle of sorting through eShop slop.
Since the “cozy gaming” niche really found its footing amid social distancing protocols during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, Wholesome Games has become a prominent fixture in the cozy games niche, earning the trust of players, publishers, and game developers the whole world over.
The group has even thrown its metaphorical hat into the indie publishing ring in recent years. Wholesome Games’ biggest critical success, developer Poti Poti Studio’s Is This Seat Taken?, stole hearts and several industry awards after Wholesome Games published it last August.
