007 First Light developers announce Game Update 1.0.2

IO Interactive blockbuster 007 First Light, the HITMAN studio’s brand-new James Bond adventure, just got its second update. Developers shared details about Game Update 1.0.2 in a new Steam post, detailing new bug fixes and other adjustments players can anticipate when they rejoin young and hard-headed MI6 recruit James Bond.

“Dear 007 First Light community,” the developer update begins. “We’re truly grateful for the amazing response to 007 First Light during Early Access and launch. Your enthusiasm has been incredible to see, and we’ll keep sharing updates as we continue working on further improvements, so make sure to follow our social channels to stay up to date.” The latest gameplay adjustments include:

Bug fixes

“Operations” Checkpoint Loading Crash. Fixed a crash that could occur when loading the “Operations” checkpoint in Chapter 2: ‘A Night Out’;

GPU Rendering Issue Crash. Fixed a frequent GPU crash caused by rendering & pipeline issues; 

Texture Rendering Crash. Fixed a crash related to texture loading errors occurring on PC; 

Crowd Animation Bug. Fixed crowd animation issues that restarted between crowd-heavy checkpoints, like in Chapter 2: ‘A Night Out’;

Steam Achievements Sync Error. Previously, Steam Achievements would not trigger “despite game progression and met conditions.” Devs note that “[b]ooting the game in online mode might be required for the game to validate Achievement progression.”

007 First Light: New update brings gameplay improvements

Emperor Suite Rooftop Hard Lock. Fixed an issue where players were able to fall off the roof of the Emperor Suite in Chapter 8, ‘Time to Die’;

Airfield Cinematic Skip Blocker. Fixed a “hard blocker” that previously caused some players to “load out of world” during the Airfield cinematic in Chapter 3, ‘All the Time in the World’;

Airplane Chase — Vehicle Stuck in Helicopter. Fixed an issue seen in Chapter 3, ‘All the Time in the World,’ where Bond’s vehicle would get stuck in the helicopter’s propellers during the Airplane Chase sequence, causing a mission failure;

Post-Auction Ledge Issue. Bond should no longer get stuck after the Auction in Chapter 3, ‘All the Time in the World’;

Android Opportunity Blocker. Fixed an issue in Chapter 9, ‘Wave of the Future,’ where destroying the undeployed spare Android seen in Robotics would irreparably block the shooting range Opportunity;

Security Office Save/Load Blocker. Fixed an issue in Chapter 9, ‘Wave of the Future,’ where exiting and reloading the game after Bond is taken to the Security Office would inhibit the guard and leave players stuck;

Counter leading to Displacement. Fixed an issue in Chapter 8, ‘Time to Die,’ where a counterattack against [SPOILER] could cause Bond and [SPOILER] to slide and/or float;

Clipping After Item Throw. Fixed an issue in Chapter 8, ‘Time to Die,’ where throwing an item at [SPOILER] could cause this character to clip through the environment;

Explosive Pipes & Missile Pen. Fixed an issue in Chapter 10, ‘For England,’ where the red explosive pipes in the first stage of the boss encounter would fail to explode when hit with Bond’s Missile Pen;

Malta Training – Combat-Camera Too Close. Fixed an issue in Chapter 1, ‘The Needle’s Eye,’ where the close-combat camera would not pull back properly;

Floating NPC in the Aleph Market Hub. Fixed an issue in Chapter 4, ‘The Past Never Dies,’ where a Market Hub NPC got stuck walking in midair and clipped his market stall;

NPC. Fixed an issue in Chapter 8, ‘Time to Die,’ where a hostile NPC near the checkpoint would be stuck in front of the door leading players into the next cutscene;

NPC Distracted Alert Sound Spam. Fixed an issue where the NPC-distracted UI sound effect would rapidly and repeatedly trigger, namely when something distracted an already-bluffed NPC.

IO Interactive details new ‘007 First Light’ TACSIM fixes

Infinite Loading Icon When Pausing. “Fixed an issue where the loading icon would loop infinitely when pausing the game while in TacSim, both in MI6 and during missions;”

Flash Mine Size Upgrade. “Fixed an issue where equipping the Size Upgrade for Flash Mines and then restarting a mission would cause Flash Mines to stop functioning.”
