On Tuesday, tabletop roleplaying game studio Free League Publishing released two new campaigns for Blade Runner The Roleplaying Game, the Stockholm, Sweden-based publisher’s award-winning TTRPG adaptation of the groundbreaking cyberpunk IP, Blade Runner. The new campaign additions — “Replicant Rebellion” and “Asset Pack & Solo Mode” — expand the gritty, in-game world of 2037 Los Angeles with the addition of new roles, maps, handouts, tools, and a helpful guide for solo players brave enough to tackle the city on their own.
Blade Runner The Roleplaying Game, according to the game’s Foundry VTT listing, is “[a] neon-noir wonderland that’ll take your breath away. One way or another.”
“An evocative world of conflicts and contrasts that dares to ask the hard questions and investigate the powers of empathy, the poisons of fear, and the burdens of being human during inhumane times. An iconic and unforgiving playground of endless possibilities that picks you up, slaps you in the face, and tells you to wake up. Time to live. Or time to die.”
Exploring Free League Publishing’s new ‘Blade Runner’ TTRPG expansions

“Replicant Rebellion,” the first of two new Blade Runner TTRPG releases, pulls players into the technofuturistic underbelly of 2037 Los Angeles as members of a rebel network, known as the Replicant Rebellion. Replicants and humans will endure and manage rising tensions between them as Wallace Corp. monitors closely and Blade Runners close in. This detailed expansion includes five Operations that players can enjoy separately or as part of a larger, more comprehensive campaign. “Replicant Rebellion” introduces new character archetypes, gear, and weapons, as well as “rules for Heat and maintaining cover, and detailed information on the Replicant Underground’s history, assets, and operations.”
In the new “Asset Pack & Solo Mode” release, players get maps, handouts, and other visual tools to create their own Case Files. The pack also includes slick new Solo Mode literature, allowing individuals to prepare for a Game Runner-less adventure:
- A 24-page solo mode booklet with tools and guidelines for playing without a Game Runner;
- 20 detailed action maps covering a wide variety of Blade Runner locations;
- 18 cardboard character standees for use with the action maps;
- 28 mugshot cards featuring denizens of future-noir LA, including characters from the films such as Mariette and Gaff;
- 10 detailed data sheets of key individuals;
- Eight crime scene photos with hidden clues for players to discover;
- Two Esper surveillance photos;
- A Heat Meter showing how hot the streets are;
- and three Independent Sentinel front pages with news and leads from 2037 Los Angeles.
