Pedestrians beware — the anime-inspired driving game, Truck-kun is Supporting Me From Another World?!, has officially launched on Nintendo Switch 2 handhelds. Truck-kun first released on PC via Steam and XBOX consoles this past July.
The wacky, manga trope-inspired title from indie game publisher Frosty Pop and developer Strange Scaffold (I Am Your Beast) is set in the fictional American town of Wenvale, where polished businesswoman Carissa just landed a new job.
Carissa’s celebration is cut short, however, after she’s run over by a delivery truck and teleported to the fantastical world of Talinfold. Carissa, once ready to rise through the ranks of a straight-laced corporate office, awakens post-collision as a pink-haired (and absolutely shredded) elf.
As the truck driver, it’s time to right some wrongs. Players must help Carissa get home by mowing down ghosts, ghouls, and other wacky baddies, busting billboards, successfully delivering goods, completing challenges, and propelling important resources (as well as other poor pedestrians) into a new dimension.
Together, you and Cassie can unlock the Galactic Gate, defeat the Skeleton King, and claim the all-important Scroll of Resurrection.
The over-the-top adventure, inspired by Japanese isekai, tackles capitalist themes and media tropes with tongue-in-cheek dialogue, absurdist elements, hilarious in-game goals, and daring drives.
Switch 2 players aren’t the only ones rewarded today. A new, significant update is coming to PC versions of Truck-kun; Nintendo and XBOX gamers will see this update in the near future, though there’s no tentative date yet.
