Happy James Bond Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the action-packed pursuits of Ian Fleming’s titular secret agent. To get the party started, 007 First Light studio IO Interactive announced that pre-orders have begun for a slick new vinyl version of the game’s original soundtrack.
IO Interactive confirmed pre-order kickoff in a Steam update on Monday morning. The studio also shared the announcement on social media, including on its X account (formerly Twitter).
“For James Bond Day, IOI Announces the new 007 First Light Vinyl Record. Some soundtracks deserve more than just a pair of headphones.
“Experience the quietest moments of tension and the biggest cinematic themes as they develop a new flabour [sic] on a format as timeless and classy as the agent himself. Stay tuned, Pre-orders are coming soon!” This blurb has since been edited to remedy the typo.
The new post reads: “Some soundtracks deserve more than just a pair of headphones. For James Bond Day, IOI announces the new 007 First Light vinyl record. Experience the quietest moments of tension and the biggest cinematic themes as they develop a new flavour on a format as timeless and classy as the agent himself.”

The HITMAN studio also announced that 007 First Light is available on Steam at a solid 30 percent discount. Players can get the base game, released in late May, for just $48.99; the title normally retails for $69.99. Not too shabby.
Likewise, players can pick up the game’s Deluxe Edition Upgrade with “4 new outfits, 4 new gadget skins and a new weapon skin” for $13.99, down from $19.99. These discounts end this Thursday, October 8.
James Bond Day, an unofficial holiday highlighting the British superspy, falls on October 5 every year. While no one’s getting out of work for this one, it’s still a nice homage to the storied superspy franchise — one that falls on “the date of the World Premiere of the first James Bond film Dr. No in 1962.”
The 007 First Light studio’s vinyl reveal comes just a few days after announcing the new (and free) “Extended Operations” DLC content update on October 1. The massive expansion adds several new in-game features, including New Game+, Photo Mode, a challenging “00” difficulty, TacSim content, and more.
The “Extended Operations” DLC adds hundreds of bug fixes and updated elements. According to developers, these improvements include “crashes, progression blockers and clipping issues to audio, localization and UI polish.”
