Popular digital communication platform Discord says it has not yet received a subpoena from Rockstar Games’ parent company, Take-Two Interactive, as the company navigates ongoing Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay leaks led by Cyberleek.
Take-Two reportedly filed several subpoenas in the Southern District Court of New York this past Thursday, August 20, in an effort to pin down the purported leaker. The subpoenas, filed against tech giants including Discord, Microsoft, Google, and X Corp. (formerly Twitter, Inc.), allege the leakers are circulating “stolen content” that “includes but is not limited to audiovisual content, artwork, images, dialogue, or other creative elements.”
Rockstar Games’ parent company, Take-Two, says it hopes to “obtain the identity of an alleged infringer or infringers, and that such information will only be used for the purpose of protecting [its] rights.”
But a new post on X (formerly Twitter) from Discord Marketing Director Ryan K. Rigney alleges that the company “has not yet been served with a subpoena.”
Rigney adds: “When we do, we’ll evaluate the validity and scope before responding.”

“All internal Microsoft business records and investigative records associated with Microsoft’s internal investigation of the “cyberleek” persona sufficient to identify the user(s), person(s) and/or entity/ies associated with that persona.
All identifying information associated with all user accounts that are/were members communicating with the Discord server(s) listed below during the time period from June 1, 2026 to present; and for those accounts, provide any associated device/telemetry records where one or more of the tool/file artifacts below were present on the system. For each returned account, provide: the account ID, registration email, registration and last-login IP addresses, phone number, linked connections (Google/Xbox/etc.), any associated device identifiers (MachineGuid/MSA), and content related to Grand Theft Auto (“GTA”), Rockstar or Cyberleek from their OneDrive account.”
According to the petition, Microsoft has until Friday, September 4, 2026, to comply with Take-Two’s subpoena requesting “all internal Microsoft business records and investigative records associated with Microsoft’s internal investigation of the ‘cyberleek’ persona sufficient to identify the user(s), person(s) and/or entity/ies associated with that persona.”
Discord also has until September 4 to produce “all user accounts that are/were members communicating with the Discord server(s)” pertaining to Cyberleek’s ongoing leaks.
At the time of writing, the identities of those involved with Cyberleek have not been revealed. Meanwhile, the group continues to share never-before-seen scenes from Grand Theft Auto 6 while simultaneously pushing a meme coin they stand to profit from.
